Boreal Tordu
Boreal Tordu is a Maine-based musical combo offering acoustic instrumental and vocal stylings rooted in the traditional music of the Acadians, the original French-speaking settlers of Maine. Founded by Acadian cousins Steve Muise on fiddle and accordion, and singer-songwriter/ dobroist Robert Sylvain, the band also features Pip Walter on guitar and backing vocals, and Andy Buckland on upright bass. Their recordings have been featured in several films and television programs, and recently on a compilation CD produced in Quebec by Le Centre de la francophonie des Ameriques.Thrice nominated for the Portland Phoenix reader

Celtic / Old-Time guitar fiddle duo, Emma Walsh & Chuck Donnelly play a unique blend of Irish, Scottish, and Old-time music. Flowing Tide
Lively arrangements of traditional acoustic music for contra dances, weddings, receptions, private parties, concerts, and other festive occasions. Our quintet is comprised of Tamora Goltz (fiddle), Sandy Davis (wooden flute, pennywhistles, saxophone), David Stimson (guitar, tenor banjo, piano), Abraham Stimson (fiddle, piano, bass), and Nathaniel Stimson (wooden flute, recorders, shawm, natural horn, foot percussion). We weave tapestries of jigs, reels, waltzes, and other zesty dance tunes that will keep your feet tapping and your heart smiling.

Fiddler/teacher/composer/children's dance instructor Hope Hoffman offers introductory fiddle lessons through advanced coaching. Rock The Boat
Rock the Boat is a contra dance band that plays innovative arrangements of traditional and untraditional dance tunes, including occasional 3-part vocal harmonies and other surprises. The quartet consists of Jim Tolles (fiddle), Sandy Davis (wooden flutes, whistles, saxophone), Muriel Hendrix (keyboard/piano), and Pete Stevens (percussion). The band's lively arrangements are great not only for contra dancing, but also for weddings, receptions, private parties, concerts, and other festive occasions.

Silents Please!
Silent movie presentations with traditional live old-time piano accompaniment of many classic feature-length silent films. Ideal for schools, community activities and fund raisers. Doug Protsik has performed for silent movies for over ten years and has composed and recorded scores for silent film restoration projects produced by Turner Classic movies. Each presentation comes with an introduction to the film and background on the film and its stars and creators. Regular series at the Eveningstar Cinema in Brunswick every winter for the last ten years.

Spirited Folk
Spirited Folk sings traditional American folk songs in the Pete Seeger tradition, as well as their own originals. Their vocal harmonies are backed up by lively acoustic instruments including banjo, guitar, mandolin, psaltery, and accordion. The tone ranges from contemplative to foot-stomping, and audiences often can't help but join in the singing. The band loves to share this infectious music with audiences of all ages. Over the years they have performed with numerous folk and dance bands. Spirited Folk consists of Joel Gold, Frannie A. Martin Swinger
Martin Swinger is a singer / songwriter / arts educator and vocal improviser. His musical repertoire includes award-winning original songs, an eclectic mix of folk standards, swing and jazz standards, family music and campfire sing-alongs. Martin also leads vocal improvisation workshops for singers who want to sing but don't have time to join a choir. His work is derived through work with the improvisational a cappela ensemble, ImproVox - www.improvox.com. Martin is a theme composer. School pride songs, theatre, jingles, TV intro's and codas, songs about personal events, family or community history. Martin facilitates the creation of songs based written or personal interviews.

UpRiver Reel is a 4-person band based in Orono, Me. It's members include Tavi Merrill on fiddle / piano, Anthony Viselli on mandolin / guitar / bouzouki, Rebecca Bosworth-Clemens on clarinet, and Morgiana Halley on percussion. consists mostly of New England folk influenced music but also includes Irish, Canadian, Klezmer, some Southern, and even Middle Eastern tunes, with the occasional modern-day twist of hip-hop and funk. This lively Maine trio has spent time learning from Finnish musicians and teachers both here and in Finland.
